Full Day Clear Creek - Advanced

Full-Day Clear Creek River Rafting Trip

Most Clear Creek trips ask you to pick a section. The Full-Day trip runs all of them.

Starting at Idaho Springs and finishing 22 miles downstream, this is the complete Clear Creek experience — the widest, most forgiving water of the Middle section in the morning, the steep and continuous Class III-IV canyon of the Upper section at pace, and the full intensity of the Lower Canyon’s Class IV-V rapids to close out the afternoon. No other single trip on Clear Creek covers the whole river. By the time you pull out, you’ll have paddled every named section from the gold rush put-in to the canyon’s end, with a riverside lunch break in the middle to eat, recover, and go again.

This is the right trip if you’ve done a half-day on Clear Creek and want more, if you’re celebrating something and want the biggest day possible on the water, or if you simply don’t want to choose between sections. The minimum age is 16, strong swimming ability is required, and the full day demands genuine physical stamina — you’ll spend roughly 4.5 to 5 hours on the water across the run. What’s included covers everything: wetsuit, splash jacket, helmet, PFD, and a riverside lunch served mid-trip.

Want just the advanced canyon without the full-day commitment? The Lower Clear Creek advanced trip covers the most intense section in 3 hours.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Previous rafting experience is great to have, but not a requirement. Our ideal candidate is someone that is physically fit and is a strong swimmer. An athletic group that works together can be taught all they need to know by their guides before they launch.

Yes, being able to swim is a requirement for the Full Day Clear Creek Rafting trip and all other rafting trip options.

Full-Day Clear Creek Rafting Trips are around 6 – 6.5 hours, including a 30-minute lunch break.

The Lower Clear Creek advanced trip is a focused 3-hour run through the canyon’s most intense stretch — Class IV-V rapids, high commitment, no frills. The Full-Day trip covers that same canyon section, but it’s the last act of a 22-mile journey that starts with the Middle and Upper sections earlier in the day. You get the complete arc of the river — from the open, historic stretch through Idaho Springs to the narrow, demanding Lower Canyon — plus a riverside lunch in between. If you’ve already done the Lower and want a bigger day, or if you want to experience the full river rather than one concentrated stretch, the Full Day is the right choice.

It depends on fitness and comfort in the water more than experience. Previous rafting experience is helpful but not required — our guides provide full instruction before you launch and brief the team before every major rapid. What matters most is genuine physical fitness, strong swimming ability, and the readiness to paddle actively for several hours. If you’re unsure whether to start here or on a half-day trip first, our Upper Clear Creek intermediate trip is a great gauge — if that feels manageable, the Full Day or Lower Clear Creek are a natural step up.
