FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We recommend that you have rafted on at least Class IV rapids before tackling the Gore Canyon whitewater rafting trip. Joining us on one of our Lower Clear Creek Advanced or Full Day Clear Creek Advanced trip would be a good prerequisite to a Gore Canyon Rafting Trip. If you feel like you have a comparable experience with a high adventure trip, feel free to give us a call. We are happy to talk you through any questions or concerns.

Gore Canyon is a demanding whitewater rafting trip. We require our rafters to be in good physical condition. You should be able to run 2 miles, do 20 push-ups, 40 sit-ups, and swim 10 laps.

Yes, we require that every paddler perform a swim test at the mouth of the canyon before you can continue to the big rapids. You will show that you can swim under the raft and get back into the raft unassisted, as well as swim through a class 3 rapid and back to shore without assistance.
